The EU AI Act forbids EU member states to put legal restrictions on the usage and marketing of AI systems within the EU. This means that the EU member states do not have national sovereignty in the field of having their own legal framework on AI systems in the EU.
Although it is emphasized in the EU AI Act that the EU legal framework on AI systems must be human-centric, it gives the impression that is power-centric, because the EU Act centralizes the legal power of those in charge within the EU through forbidding EU member states to put restrictions on the usage and marketing of AI systems within the EU.
